Feel free to submit as many stories as you wish.
Every Single Woman Has A Story
For many women being single is a preferred way of life; a direction decided while they were young with an energy
focused on career or travel. Single women are familiar with the pressure from family to marry. They consider it
overwhelming to even consider binding themselves to a man, as an intrusive and unwelcomed thought. Then there are
others who seek and yet have not had the good fortune to find a relationship that has tempted them to take the plunge
into matrimonial bliss. As a single woman what advice do you have for those mothers who are occupied with thoughts of
marriage for their single daughters? What are the perks of being single and what have been the pitfalls of selecting
to be a single woman? What is your story?
Every Romance Has A Story
Every romance does not necessarily lead to marriage but a good romance will remain with a woman for the duration
of her life. Did you marry the romance of your life or has that memory been tucked away hidden within your heart for
many years? Have you ever regretted the path you took? Would you wish the experience of an encounter with someone
special even if only briefly to exchange your life's stories and know your memory was not altered by the passing of
time? For some a romance does not necessarily need be with a person but can be the memory of a special city or time
in life. To have a romance can be a life altering event. For those who participate in the arts, when exploring one's
personal interests such as writing or painting, the romance of connecting with your creative spirit can be a very
satisfying experience. What is the story of your romance?
Every Hairstylist Has A Story
Every hairstylist will have their favorite memories of special clients who, once sitting in their chairs, have
developed intimate bonds of friendships. For a woman the importance of their stylist is only second to the importance
of their physician; for both have been a living witness to their best of times and worst of times. A stylist is
present on a client's wedding day, sharing the excitement and helping the bride prepare for her walk down the aisle.
A stylist is sometimes the first person to hear of a client's pregnancy or separation and will bear witness to the
changes in their clients’ lives as time passes. If you are a stylist then you've developed the ability to also be
a lay therapist. You listen and provide sympathy while still performing the wonderful skill of your trade. You
must work long hours and are constantly available in an attempt to please others. What is your story, what advice
do you have for other talented stylists? What encouragement can you provide for those students wanting to enter
your profession?
Every Divorce Has A Story
This is a time of reflection, of change and of many tears shed. It is thought that divorce is as difficult as
the death of a loved one. Just as when mourning a loss through death, one finds themselves mourning the loss of
their marriage. Divorce requires an emotional journey, with time necessary to process the many changes that must be
accepted. We just want to move past the pain and begin again; we just want time to quickly pass and the mourning to
reach an end. The initial response for many is to want another partner, another marriage or another relationship when
what we really seek is a better relationship with ourselves. We each have our own story of pain, fear and of personal
growth. What is your story of divorce? Once enough time has passed how did you manage to survive during those initial
difficult months?
Every Friendship Has A Story
I believe that even our most solid relationships deserve nurturing and should be honored with respect. Relationships
are those fragile and emotional connections that make our lives so worthwhile. As we mature and change, life provides
gentle reminders that not all relationships will be everlasting. Some people will remain for the duration of our lives
while others will stay for only a season; and then there will be those precious few who briefly touch our lives for a
singular reason. In Every Friendship Has A Story we ask you to honor a special person who may only have touched your
life briefly and yet that contact left a lasting impression on your life. You may remember a friend from school or a
friend who you lost contact with as the years have passed but with whom you still share special memories. When we have
the great fortune to maintain a friendship, their presence may stay with us for the duration of a lifetime. Which
relationship do you feel compelled to honor in this book of special friendships?
Every Veterinarian Has A Story
A compassionate veterinarian is highly regarded by their clients as the importance of a pet's health is essential.
A veterinarian will see you during your most difficult moments when your pets are ill or due to age may be nearing the
end of their lives. On any given day they will encounter young pups just beginning their life to then compassionately
deal with an owner grieving the end of a beloved cat's life. Although a vet's practice may include many animals, they
often become attached to specific pets who have been under their care for many years. They too will grieve when a pet
for whom they have provided many years of medical care sadly returns to their office at the end their life. We not only
welcome stories from veterinarians but also their staff members who provide quality loving care behind the scenes. If
you have encountered an outstanding veterinarian, why not honor them with a story that has reflected their care to your
own pet. I will never forget the compassion I’ve received from several vets I have known over the years, and in each
situation their professional composure was an awe inspiring experience.
Every Wedding Has A Story
A wedding day may be the most anticipated time in a woman's life; that is until the planning begins and reality
sets in. Then there is the astronomical cost and the time required to make arrangements necessary to honor each
family's traditions and high expectations. Many brides and grooms are placed in difficult situations trying to
please two sets or more of parents, always concerned that everyone remains content with their intended wedding
plans. The most important element should be the happiness of the bride and groom, for they are giving their lives
one to the other and that's the true celebration. If you had a particularly difficult wedding day or one that met
all your expectations, your story deserves to be written and remembered for all time. Another wedding season is
quickly approaching; what words of wisdom do you have for the many couples that are about to embark upon the most
important journey of their lives?
Every First Love Has A Story
We all remember our first love… although not necessarily the person we will marry, a first love holds a significant
place in our treasured memories. I was a naïve 18-year-old girl not totally comfortable with myself nor expecting such
a karmic connection with a young man during that period of my life. My first love was also my first experience with
love at first sight; there was a magnetic chemistry which mutually flowed effortlessly between us. Despite the 'Romeo
and Juliet' aspects of our intense relationship, I wouldn't change any of the circumstances that were eventually
dictated by the passing of time. I wrote in the greatest of detail in my journal during that period in my life and
every once in a while I still read of those special years when I was a young girl. Do you have a first love memory that
you cherish? If you could go back in time would you change any of those intimate details of first love to influence
your present day circumstances?
Every Good Marriage Has A Story
It took many years and several painful learning experiences before I was blessed with meeting my soul mate and
beloved husband. When I was a young woman I experienced what can only be referred to as a 'marriage of tolerance'
which I endured for five years. When the torment ended I learned my lessons and took advantage of time by remaining
single for over ten years. During that period of time alone I observed the marriages of those who touched my life:
of several friends and many people I was in contact with due to my business. I saw many marriages based on finances
and others that were simply marriages of convenience. I learned a great deal and decided that if I was ever given
another opportunity I would wait for the right person and only marry for love. Of the several long-term and loving
marriages I observed, I had only one question for the husband and wife. I asked the couples, "What has made your
marriage successful?" I asked the husband and wife this question separately before they could interact with each other
and compare their responses. The answers were as varied as the marriages. If you are fortunate to be in a good marriage
you are already aware of the special qualities that both partners must have to be successful in maintaining their
relationship. There are couples that are just contemplating marriage and your words of wisdom may greatly influence
their decision as they begin their lives together. I therefore ask the same question to you, "What has made your marriage
successful?"
